![]() The Matthews family believes strongly in sharing our agricultural experiences with those who do not live on a family farm. Therefore in 1986, the Matthews began growing and selling pumpkins during October, opening the farm to the public for hayrides to the pumpkin patch. We also began our tradition of offering farm tours to school children from ages three to twelve. In 1996, we extended the tour idea to private groups and families and began hosting birthday parties year-round. In 1997, we placed the farm in the Chester County Farmland Preservation program, enabling us to continue the family farm heritage. In response to customer requests, we opened a Hospitality tent during October for food and beverage, and began marketing gifts inscribed with Milky Way Farm logo. In 1998, we launched this website to promote understanding of dairy farming and sharing of Milky Way Farm endeavors with the public. What does the future hold for Milky Way
Farm in the next century? v The Chester Springs Creamery first opened its doors on May 5, 2001. We are now in our 5th year and OPEN for the Fall season (closing for the season on Nov. 27). Come visit us and enjoy moolicious homemade premium ice cream manufactured on the premises using the milk from our cows. Look for future updates soon. We appreciate your support of our endeavors to preserve the family farming traditions at Milky Way Farm for future generations. | Top of Page | |
